Intimacy

Building intimacy and keeping it fresh

One of the questions people often ask during PreMarital Counseling is “How do we protect our chemistry and keep our intimacy alive over the course of our marriage?” I appreciate this question as the answer lies in the heart of PreMarital Counseling.

To protect intimacy you have to practice intimate behaviors

In our sessions I can help you learn the things that build intimacy in a marriage and avoid those things that build barriers against it. We'll go through the Love Languages in a more in-depth way than you find online as well as Positive Attachment Styles.

Shared closeness is essential to creating a protective glow around your marriage. Within that glow you feel content and special. Loyalty and affection are easy.

Intimacy is often arrived at indirectly

Communication, disagreements, work stress levels, family responsibilities, fatigue and finances can all have a withering impact on your intimacy if they are contentious.

Intimacy after marriage is not always spontaneous as when dating. Many couples want it to be but nature doesn't guarantee that. The real power lies in knowing how to create an intimate wavelength with your spouse, one that nurtures soft feelings of closeness and hot feelings of sexy passion.

This is an important part of PreMarital Counseling. I look forward to helping you define what intimacy is for you and securing the ways to refresh and keep it strong.
